Craig Levelle Simon II was born February 18, 1992 to Lolita Buchanan and Craig L. Simon, Sr. in Herrin, Illinois and was raised in Marion, IL. He had to fight to survive as soon as he entered the world as a preemie born 2 months and 2 weeks to early. Levelle was born weighing 3 ½ lbs. But he fought and we was able to get his weight stable. When he was finally able to go home, he weigh 6 lbs. and 9 oz. He was a happy baby who became a strong 6'7" man.
He received his education from the Marion School System graduating from the Marion High School in 2010 where he was an outstanding football player for the Marion Wildcats. He continued his education and his love for football at McKendree University with the Bearcats in Lebanon, IL.
He was employed as a construction worker for Local Union 773, which he loved doing. Levelle was a well manner young man who respected his elders. He was the life of the party, the shoulder to cry on and mouth with words of wisdom. He was an amazing son, brother, father and friend and will be missed by many.
On Monday, May 30, 2022 while traveling back home a tragic car accident took Level away from us. He leaves behind to cherish his precious memory, his mother Lolita Rene Mitchell of Herrin, IL, his father Craig L. Simon, Sr. of Murphysboro, IL, stepfather Tyrone Mitchell of Carbondale, IL; his children, Kaydon, Laveha and Josiah of Ava, IL, Ada, Alieagh and Adain of Herrin, IL; his sister, Kristi Simon of Marion, IL, and her children, Trystan Jackson, Liam Murphy and RJ Quartumas, sister, Shana Rednour of St. Louis, MO and her children and sister, Tasha Mitchell of Carbondale, IL and her children; a very special friend, Jackie Leigh of Herrin, IL and a host of nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Levelle has gone on to join his sister, Ebony C. Simon, maternal grandparents, Earlie and Robert Jones, maternal great grandparents, Lucille and, George Buchanan, great great grandparents, Anna Mae and Ruben Valliant, cousin Patrick Buchanan and many more.
Services were held at 11 am on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Paul's Chapel Baptist Church in Marion, IL.
Burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion, IL
