Co H 14th Georgia Regiment C.S.A. as a Lieutenant Colonel and was one of the youngest Colonels in the Confederate Amry.
Ramsay was Dublin, Ga.'s most beloved man of the late 19th century. After returning to Dublin Ramsay went into the ministry. He spent over 20 years as the pastor of the First Baptist Church. Ramsay also served as the first superintendent of the Laurens County Schools.
