She attended Keuka Co-educational Institute, when her parents came to Keuka Park in 1894. The Rev. Mr. Griffin served on the board of trustees and was secretary-treasurer of Keuka College. Mrs. Churchill's late husband, Carl Churchill, also attended the co-educational school and later was principal of the institute and acting dean of the college. Because of their love for the region, the Churchills acquired a fruit farm about a mile south of the college in 1909 and made their home there until Mr. Churchill's death on Feb. 19, 1954.
Mrs. Churchill was a graduate of Philadelphia School of Industrial Arts, class of 1904, and a)|so attended college in Bridgeport, Conn.
She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Frankie Merson and Mrs. Mona Barrus, both of Keuka Park; a brother, Bryant Griffin of Winter? park, Fla.; five daughters, Mrs. William White of Baldwin, L. I., Mrs. Charles Shapley of Hamilton, Mrs. Jack Lippert of Newark, Conn., Mrs. John Fleming of Bethesda, Md., and Mrs. Harry Rose of Hohokus, N. J.
Friends called at the Thayer Funeral Chapel until Tuesday, when services were held in St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Branchport at 2 p. m. The Rev. Richard Henderson, rector, officiated. The body was placed in Lake View Cemetery vault.
