On April 18, 1946 in Kirksville, he married Velma Dunn who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Lois Jean Creason of Springfield, Illinois; two sons, Ray Allen Aldridge of Jefferson City, Missouri and Randy Lynn Aldridge of LaPlata; one brother, Junior Aldridge of Memphis, Missouri and six grandchildren, Lori Creason, Jeff Creason, Steve Aldridge, Tracy Aldridge, Tisha Aldridge and Travis Alridge.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie Rood and Elsie Wellborne and three brothers, Herman Aldridge, Francis Aldridge and William Aldridge.
He was reared in Schuyler County. He was a 1937 graduate of the Bible Grove High School. Most of his life was spent in Brashear where he was self-employed in custom bulldozing until his retirement in May 1983.
During World War II, Mr. Aldridge served with the United States Army from April 28, 1942, through November 7, 1945. During his military career he received the Purple Heart.
Mr. Aldridge was a member of the Coffey Christian Church near Downing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday March 21, 1989 in the Hudson-Rimer Park View Chapel in Kirksville. The Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Phil Baker singing "Amazing Grace" and "Beyond The Sunset", acompanied by Wanda Donaldson.
Burial will be in the Veterans Garden of Honor, Park View Memorial Gardens, in Kirksville, Missouri.
Bearers will be: Larry Salter, Merle Aldridge, Kevin Holdren, Sid Osborn, Larry McClanahan and Donald Thompson.
Honorary bearers will be Virgil Delaney, Fred Barker, Jim Heldon and Homer Johnson.
