Muriel was born in Northborough on February 16, 1938, a daughter of the late Leo L. and Gladys M. (Nevers) Cummings. She was raised in Marlborough on the Cummings Family Farm on Millham Street and where she was a graduate of Marlborough High School. Muriel was very proud of her Marlborough roots.
Muriel enjoyed boating, camping, motorcycling, softball, sewing, bowling, wood working and gardening, but mostly enjoyed being with her family and friends. Muriel and her husband were competitive Artistic Roller Dance Skaters who earned many awards for skating proficiency. She held assistant coach and coaching positions with the Northborough Lassie League Softball Association where she coached her daughter's teams. Muriel was also an assistant Girl Scout Leader for many years and her son's biggest Little League fan.
Muriel will be remembered mostly for her unwavering love and dedication to her children and grandchildren. She loved her family above all else and she is going to be missed by all so very much.
Muriel is survived by her three children, Pamela Dietz and her longtime companion Francis Mattioli of Northborough, Daniel Maurice and his wife Susan of Mendon and Teresa Muccini and her husband Tony of Upton; three grandchildren who she loved dearly, Derek & Blake Muccini, and Amy Dietz. She also leaves her sister, Norma Casali of Ipswich and her brother, Ronald Cummings of California, many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Chester "Chet" Cummings.
