David Michael Hublar, 79, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022. He was born on January 20, 1943, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Alfred Hublar, Sr., and Pauline (Voyles) Hublar.

David was a 1961 graduate of Our Lady of Providence High School. He played basketball under scholarship for Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and later graduated from Bellarmine University. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, who loved fishing, golfing, and playing cards.

David is survived by his sister, Joyce Hatfield (David); brother, Alfred Hublar, Jr. (Linda); sister, Margaret Sand; nieces, Jayme (Sand) Baker and Tami Hatfield; nephews, Michael Hublar (Debra), Mark Hublar, Greg Hublar (Lisa), Todd Hublar (Dana), and Adrian Scharrer (Amanda); and many great-nieces and great-nephews, who he dearly loved.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany). Cremation will follow in accordance with David's wishes.
