Frances Vallerie Carter, 83, of Davy, WV, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born July 8, 1938 in Welch, she was the daughter of the late William Lane and Goldie Pennington Brewster.
She was a homemaker and active member of Asco Community Church.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Dennis Lane; two sisters, Lydia Alberty and Margaret Payne.
Those left to cherish her memories are one son, Randy Lane and Bernice of Belews Creek, NC; two daughters, Iona Trump of Bluefield and Michele Locklear and Chip of Davy; three grandchildren, James Locklear and Heather of Beckley, Kaleigh Locklear of Princeton, Stephanie Vaughn and boyfriend Tanner Sult of Bluefield, WV; five great grandchildren;
a very special couple who helped the family, Linda and Tommy Kelley of Asco; and two special friends, Dawn Newcomb and Nancy Shelton both of Davy; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 12:00 noon from the Douglas Mortuary Chapel in Welch with Pastor Otis Lester, officiating. Burial will follow in the Asco Community Cemetery in Asco.
Services will be held in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines, masks are to be worn by all attending and social distancing is to be practiced.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 11AM to 12 noon.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
