Rita J. Timon, age 96, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully, May 29, 2022.

Born in Stamford, CT, on September 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late William and Nora (Burke) Leonard. Rita graduated from the Danbury (CT) School of Nursing, earning registered nurse status.

Strong in her faith, Rita was a devout member of Holy Angels Parish for many years. She was also a life member of the Maple Valley Swim Club. Rita enjoyed dressing up and dining out. She was a loving and kind person, always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother with a great sense of humor and a strong, but gentle spirit. All will miss her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Millcroft for the excellent care given to Rita during her time there.

In addition to her parents, her loving husband, Patrick J. Timon, preceded Rita in death. She is survived by her daughter, Noreen T. West and son in law Buz of Wilmington; grandchild, Ti West of Los Angeles, CA; brother-in-law, Thomas Timon; and her four nieces.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Holy Angels R.C. Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE, 19711, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita's name may be made to Holy Angels Parish at the address listed above.
