Mr H. F. GARRARD
Mr H. F. Garrard who died recently was a well-known sportsman in Christchurch having been a prominent member of the Merivale Football Club and the Midland Cricket Club during the late part of last century and the early years of this.
He played football for the Merivale Club for some seasons in the junior trade and represented the club in the junior representative team which played against Otago and Wellington in 1903. When the rugby league code was introduced in Christchurch in 1912 he became one of the foundation members of the executive and represented the Addington Club for several years. He was also a prominent referee for several seasons
