Milo Staples, age 72, of Tyndall passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital at Yankton.
Milo Duane Staples was born November 15, 1947 to John W. and Florence (Primus) Staples in Butte, Nebraska. He graduated from high school and earned an Automotive Associates Degree.
On December 21, 1968, Milo married Judy Story at Colome, South Dakota.
Milo enlisted in the United States Army on January 9, 1968. He served two years as an automobile mechanic before being honorably discharged on January 9, 1970.
Milo worked at several mechanic shops in Gregory, Winner and Armour. He later made his home in Tyndall and worked at Tyndall Motors for 30+ years.
He had a wonderful singing voice. He enjoyed woodworking and roller skating in his younger years. He watched NASCAR occasionally. He loved working on vehicles and loved working on Chevrolets.
Milo had a hat for every venture. He was a resilient, humble and caring person. Milo was a wonderful role model and loved by all. He was especially proud of his grandkids.
Milo is survived by his wife, Judy Staples; two sons, Anthony Duane Staples and Douglas Ralph Staples; his daughter, Veronica Kaye Staples; two grandsons, Tanner Svanda and Elisha James Staples; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jerry Staples.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" W. Staples and Florence Primus Staples; daughter, Angelica Dawn Staples; two sisters, Jaquline S. Clausen and Mary Eisenhauer; and two brothers, Chester Staples and Cecil Staples.
