On Wednesday afternoon, November 24,2021, Nancy Faye Johnston , 88, of Alto, moved to her Heavenly Home. Nancy Faye was a Godly woman who loved the Lord and her family, and set an example for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren that will lead them all their lives. She always displayed and taught a love of music, a love of family, and a love for Jesus.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Alto Baptist Church from 1:00-3:00 pm followed by a service at 3:00 pm with Dr. Alan Miller and Rev. David Shirley officiating. Her grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Private family graveside services will follow at The Prewitt Cemetery officiated by Shelton Sharbono under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA.

Nancy Faye was born in Alto, Louisiana on March 4, 1933 to the late John and Sallie Mae Holdiness. She was married to her Mangham High School Sweetheart, the late Eugene Johnston, for 67 years. She studied Music at Northeast and went on to teach Piano throughout her life. She served as Alto Baptist Church organist and pianist for the past 72 years.

Nancy Faye Holdiness Johnston is survived by her children and their spouses: Rhonda Hill (Sid), Dianne Abraham (Ralph), Gary Johnston (Susan), and Michael Johnston (Tamara), 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and hundreds of piano students.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her granddaughter, Stacey; and her daughter-in-law, Amy.

Memorials may be made to Alto Baptist Church, 2296 Highway 15, Rayville, LA. 71269.
