He was born March 16, 1964, in Champaign, Illinois, the son of Leland "Bud" and Janice (Smith) Martin.
David and his family moved to Indiana during his high school years, and he graduated in 1982 from Tri High. He enjoyed working at the Henry County Sheriff's Department for the past several years. David was an avid sports collector, and his number one team was the Fighting Illini of Illinois. He was close to his cousin Eddie (wife: Annie) Fairchild, with whom he lived.
Those left to cherish David's memory include his parents of Tavares, Florida; his friend and former wife of 24 years, Peggy Hoover, of New Castle; aunt and uncle, Glenda and Tim Fallon of Illinois and several cousins.
There will be no services, and burial will be held privately at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sproles Family Funeral Home.
