01 July 2001 obituary (edited), Warren Tribune Chronicle, p. 8a: Warren - Ruby Jane Phebus, 94, of Gillette Nursing Home, and formerly of Hollywood Avenue, died June 27, 2001, at the nursing home. She was born June 21, 1907, in Fowler, a daughter of James and Angeline Barker Beil and lived in the area most of her life. Mrs. Phebus was employed as a school teacher with Warren city schools for 37 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a charter member of Kappa Delta Phi National Honor Society. She belonged to the Circle W Club and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Mrs. Phebus earned a bachelor's degree in education from Youngstown State University. Her husband, Edward R. "Russ," died in 1974. Survivors include a sister, Pauline J. Priddy of Sarasota, Fla.; two nieces; and one nephew. A son, Samuel, is deceased. Burial: Pineview Memorial Gardens in Warren.
