Richard Lee Hand, 82, of Chillicothe, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior at 7:29 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 in Four Seasons of Washington following a brief illness.

He was born January 19, 1940, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Ronald Leroy and Anna Catherine Bannon Hand.

Surviving are daughters, Beth Ann (David) Milam, of Circleville and Mary (Jaime) Dick, of Plain City; a sister, Vicky Gay Hand, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Sarah Milam (Lennon Mueller), of Lancaster, Ohio, Phillip Milam (Allison), of Columbus, GA, Krysten Dick (Josh Bauer), of North Carolina, Samuel Dick, of Plain City, Megan Dick (Adam Jones), of Vermont; a great grandson, Liam Mueller; and many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Robin Hand, of Chillicothe; and best friend, Joey Mitchell, of Chillicothe. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Peggy Ann and brothers, Ronald and Thomas.

Richard had recently accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and now walks streets of gold arm in arm with Jesus. Richard was Manager of the Color Shop in Central Center and also Manager of the Dean and Barry Paint Town in the Chillicothe Mall. He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 62 and the VFW Post 108. Dick was an avid buckeye fan. Although he cheered for the buckeyes, he was a bigger fan of his two daughters, five grandchildren and his great grandson. He loved spending time on his porch feeding the squirrels. He took pride in making holidays special for his family.

A memorial visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. A graveside service, with his nephew Robin Hand officiating, will be held in Brown's Chapel Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
