Dorothy Jelinek was born September 28, 1933 in Prague, NE to Adolph and Lillie (Vyhlidal) Ostry. She graduated from Mead High School in 1951. Dorothy was united in marriage to Lawrence Jelinek on August 30, 1955 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Prague.

She worked for Lincoln Telephone & Telegraphs before working over 30 years as a clerk at the Wahoo Sale Barn. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and St. Ludmilla Guild. She enjoyed gardening, her farm animals and loved spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Larry Jelinek, Robert (Ruth) Jelinek, Teri (Joe) Sloup, Jim Jelinek and Ron (Maria) Jelinek; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Ostry; sister-in-law, Ann Bruha; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Lillie Ostry; husband, Lawrence Jelinek; grandson, Christopher Jelinek; sisters, Mildred Ostry, Alice Kavan, Ethel Kavan; brother-in-law, Jack Bruha
