Funeral services and a video history were held for Gilbert C. Ablard of Sheridan on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Church of the Nazarene in Sheridan. The Rev. James R. Healy officiated.
Interment was conducted at Green Crest Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home.
Mr. Ablard died of natural causes on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2008, in Sheridan. He was 64.
Born in Derbyshire, England, on April 16, 1943, he was the son of George and Phyllis (Gilbert) Ablard.
After graduating from high school and college, he went on to earn a master's degree in theology. He married Muriel Ashcroft on Feb. 11, 1967, in Manchester, England, before immigrating to the U.S.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ablard is survived by a brother, Godfrey Ablard, a niece, Dawn Roberts, and a nephew, Peter Ablard, all of Chester, England.
