Ben passed way at his home in Daly City at the age of 75 with his beloved wife of 54+ years Zoya near him in the early morning hours of May 18, 2022.

Born under a truck in Urumchi, China while on the run during the Chinese Civil War with his mom Ludmilla, and his grandmother, spending time as a refugee in Shanghi, China and Tubabao, Philippines before ultimately immigrating to San Francisco at the age of 4 with his mom. They settled in Potrero Hill where his mother married John Baker. Ben then became the oldest child of the growing family, which included his two younger sisters, Alice and Irene. After graduating high school, he signed up for the United States Navy, before meeting the love of his life, Zoya, and marrying her while waiting to ship off for duty. Serving in the Navy during the Vietnam war, spending most of his time on the USS Arlington.

Earning a degree in Electronics from San Francisco State University he spent his career owning his TV shop and as a typing clerk in the trucking industry.

Ben planned ahead and retired at the early age of 55 spending the remainder of his life doing what he loved, going to see live music shows, traveling the world, studying history and spending time with his wife and two children, Jon and Kathy.

Ben is survived by his loving wife Zoya, his daughter Katheen and son Jon.

Friends and family may visit Friday, June 3rd at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City where a memorial service will be held at 11:00am. Afterwards we will travel to the Russian Sectarian Cemetery where he will join family and friends who have gone before him. Finally, we will conclude with a late lunch/early dinner from 3-5pm (location will be given during services).
