1st Sergeant James Carlton Jones Sr., has gone to be with the LORD on May 4, 2022. Born in Doddridge, Arkansas on July 6th, 1930 he lived to be 91 years old.

He retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service in 1969 and served in Vietnam from 1968-1969. Mr Jones was awarded numerous medals during his service to the country including the Bronze Star. He was also a loyal member of Vaughn Memorial Presbyterian Church for over 65 years.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth R. Jones.

He is survived by his brother, Jerry Jones of Texas; his only son, James Carlton Jones, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Linda Jones of Hope Mills, NC; grandsons, Andrew, Benjamin and Joshua; granddaughters, Carmen and Jayme and numerous great-grandchildren.

There will be a funeral service held in the Reeves Funeral Home Chapel in Hope Mills on Monday, May 9th at 12 Noon. A visitation with Family and Friends will be held from 11:00 to 11:45 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
