"Emeline Clark (nee Devore), wife of Charles Clark, was born in Clay County, Indiana, Feb. 2, 1849, and died on July 20, 1900, at her home on Dog Creek, aged 51 years, 5 months and 18 days. She was married to Charles Clark, Nov. 21, 1875. She leaves six children to mourn her loss. She joined the Christian Church in 1883, and for 17 years, she lived an exemplary Christian. May husband and children follow a mother's example. On Monday, the 21st, the funeral services were held at her late home at 2 p.m. Her remains were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and neighbors. The services were conducted by Rev. J.J. Flack."
