Mrs. Miriam [sic] Glass Spangler, 93, passed away at her home at 12:30 o'clock, Thursday, January 10, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lena Troute of Burnside.
Miriam [sic] Barrett was united in marriage to Robert M. Glass January 18, 1872 in Carthage. To this union was [sic] born seven children, Mrs. Lena Troute of Burnside, Thomas Glass of Hanford, Calif., Mrs. Flossie Matthews of Murtaugh, Idaho, and Mrs. Iona Cummings of Galesburg. Three sons, Walter, John and Olen, and her husband preceded her in death.
She also leaves to mourn her passing an aged sister, Ida B. Sargent of Los Angeles, Calif.
She was later married to William Spangler also deceased. Mrs. Spangler was a member of the Burnside Christian church for 51 years, where she attended regularly as long as her health permitted. Through the last years of her life she was cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Lena Troute, assisted by Iona Cummings during the last illness.
The funeral was conducted in the Christian church at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon by Rev. Nichols. Songs were sung by Mrs. Avis Todd and Mrs. Ed Underwood with Mrs. Kieopfer at the piano. Pallbearers were Arthur Salisbury, Merlin Furrow, Fred Barnes, Lloyd Woodside, Ray Hull and Farlin Duffy. Burial was in Webster cemetery.
