She was born on July 3, 1942 to Richard and Orethel (Folk) Burns in Toledo, Ohio. On July 3, 1965 she married Roger L. Van Brackel, who preceded her in death on September 23, 2013.
Peggy was a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Troy, Ohio and St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance. She loved gardening and was an outstanding artist both drawing and painting. She was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and New England Patriots. Peggy was an awesome mother and always supported her children with all their activities.
Peggy will be sadly missed by her children; Chris (Mary) Van Brackel of Lexington, KY, Danielle (Judy Lambright) Van Brackel of Kettering, OH, and Tiffany (Robert Jr.) Brumberg of Cincinnati, OH, two grandchildren; Nicole Elizabeth and Christopher August Van Brackel, and her sister, Ruthann Baker of Ayersville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Orethel Burns, her husband, Roger Van Brackel, and her brother, Richard J. Burns.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father John Stites officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, or Shriners Children's Hospital.
