Today we celebrate the life of Mary Bettell Goodgion of Ruston, La.
Mary was born December 27, 1937 to Buril and Ruby Bettell of Bernice, La. She was raised in Dubach, La. and graduated from Dubach High School. She continued her education at Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, where she received a Bachelor Degree and Master of Education. Her first job was at Dubach High School and her career eventually took her to the Lincoln Parish School Board, from which she retired.
Mary was known for her big heart and compassion for others. She cared for her parents until their deaths and was also closely involved with the lives of her brothers. Mary's generosity extended outside of her family, and she helped many in the community, never asking for or expecting anything in return.
Mary was preceeded in death of herr father and mother, Buril and Ruby Bettell, as well as her four brothers, Bobby, Jerry Tommy and Randy. Lerft to chertish her memory are her devoted husband of 43 years , Frank Goodgion, his daughters Gina Gay and Barbara Davidson, her sister , Carolyn Bettell Foster, and many grandchildren, neices, nephews,cousins and friends.
Mary will be missed by all.
