Dorothy Johnson, April 2, 1920 – March 9, 2022
Dorothy J. Johnson, 101 of Mesa, AZ, passed away on March 9, 2022. Dorothy was born April 2, 1920 in Bowbells, ND. Dorothy married Art Johnson on September 2, 1942 and lived on their farm near Lignite (ND) until moving to Bowbells (ND), where they had the Bowbells Café for a few years and farmed. They moved to Sun City, AZ in 1980. Where there Dorothy was busy with ceramics, knitting, playing cards and cooking for all of us our favorite dishes.
Dorothy will be remembered for her caring patience and loving manner in which she treated everyone.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Johnson Bernardi; granddaughter, Jennifer Bernardi Curtis; grandson, Jason Bernardi; and great grandchildren, Ashley, Joey and Abigail Curtis, along with Dune Bernardi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Johnson; parents, Dorothea and Peter Pederson; sister, Mary Sjue; and brothers, Leonard, Raymond and Gordon Pederson.
A graveside memorial service will be held in Bowbells on July 7th at 11:00 a.m.
