Jessie Mae Barrett passed from this world into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 14, 2022. Jessie was born to Earlin Umsted and Agnes McDaniel on October 4, 1933 in Gainesville, Texas.

Jessie Mae, also known as Jet or Jettie by all her loving cousins, was a woman gifted with many talents. She excelled as a seamstress and could prepare a five course meal as well as any chef. Even though she was gifted with much talent, her greatest desire in life was to please her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jessie married Charlie Barrett on March 5, 1969 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jessie and Charlie were long -time members of the First Baptist Church in Gunter, Texas and left a legacy of faith for their family and others to follow.

Jessie is survived by her daughters Mickye Joslin and husband Jerry, Glenda Mosman and husband Gerald, and son Keith Barrett, grandchildren Julie Parker and husband Doug, Micah Trotter and husband Sean, David Pruitt and wife Carolyn, Rhett Walker and wife Leslie, Amanda Walker, Angela Stone, Crystal Gonzales, Heather Barrett, Christopher Barrett, Chad Barrett and wife Sara, Jason Mosman and wife Beth, and Jessica Mosman. She is also survived by many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charlie Barrett, brother Paul Umsted, daughter Paula Long, son Billy Bob Walker, and grandsons David Neal Joslin and Barry Pruitt.

Graveside services will be at New Hope Cemetery in Mountain Springs, Texas on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10 AM with Pastor Scott Jordan officiating.
