Max Clairen Winslow

June 28, 1924 - March 16, 2022

Max Clairen Winslow, a 53-year resident of Chelan, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on March 16, 2022 with his daughters by his side.
Max was born on June 28, 1924 in Green Mountain, Iowa to Clairen and Gladys Winslow. He attended school in Iowa before moving with his family to Idaho in 1932.
He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army during WWII from January 1943 to November 1945.
Max married Joan Farris on February 7, 1948 in Boise, Idaho. They lived in Idaho, Oregon, and parts of Washington before moving to Chelan in 1969. Max retired from the Department of the Interior, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation in 1976 after 30 years of service. He was proud of completing his 46th year of retirement this past February. Max enjoyed living independently until the age of 96. He loved mowing lawns, driving and caring for his vehicles, and spending time with his daughters.
Max is survived by his daughters, Linda Winslow of Bellingham, Washington and Karen Winslow of Lynnwood, Washington. He is also survived by a brother, Dwight Winslow of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
The family would like to give special thanks to Andy and Erin Fielding, Tyson and Krissi Gilsoul, and Jim and Kathy Billington for their support and help over the years.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Precht Rose Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan, WA on April 1, 2022 at 2 p.m.
