Dorothy 'Dottie' McGuire Barber, 77, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Saturday morning, May 14th, at Community Hospice Care Center. Dottie was born June 20, 1944 in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Harry and Norma Church McGuire. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and formerly attended South Ashland United Methodist Church. Dottie was a 1962 graduate of Fairview High School and was Miss Ashland 62'. She was a former employee of PNC Bank and was formerly associated with Dee's Flowers and Manning Furniture. Dottie was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by the love of her life; Mike Barber in 2015. She was also preceded by 12 brothers and sisters. Surviving include 3 sons; Michael Barber, and wife Jami, of Ross, Ohio. John Christopher Barber, and wife Soyon, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Bryan Kendall Barber of Ashland, Kentucky. 7 grandchildren; Jared, Derek, James, John, Daniel, Joseph, and Sarah, and 3 great grandchildren; Vivian, Clara, and Juliette. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 18th, at 1:00 PM by Pastor Michael York at PRESTON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation is Wednesday from 11:00 AM until service time.
