Son of Earl and Ada Marie Batesole. On July 25, 1922 he married Madgel Beatrice Cronkwright in Iowa Falls. He was reared and educated in Marshalltown and was graduated from Marshalltown High School where he was on the football team. For many years he was in the grocery business, retiring in the late 1930's and then became a farm manager. he was a memberof the First Baptist Church.
