ROCK HILL – Opal DeBruhl Phillips, 84, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.
Opal Phillips was born to the late Oscar and Emma Martin on July 9, 1938, in Troup, Texas. She was as a strong Christian lady throughout her entire life in addition to being a wonderful mother. She was also a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed playing both tennis and golf in her younger years. Mrs. Phillips also loved the beach and was very fond of vacations.
Mrs. Phillips is preceded in death by her parents, her two previous spouses, Willard DeBruhl and Wayne Phillips; her son, Willard DeBruhl; and her daughter, Eva DeBruhl.
She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Tyre (Rich Bleacher),Tami Settlemeyer, and Samantha Bagley; her grandchildren, Andy Tyre (Mandy) and Steven Tyre (Stacey); her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Savannah, Levi, Bryson, and Kayla Tyre; and her companion terrier, Bella.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Forest Hills Cemetery in Rock Hill and the family will receive visitors there, 30 minutes prior to the service.
