The funeral for Florence Cathryn Schwartau will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing, with the Rev. Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing.
Florence Schwartau, 88, of Red Wing, died Sunday at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park.
Florence Cathryn Schwartau was born March 8, 1919, in Red Wing. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1936. She worked at JCPenney in Red Wing for 35 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Altar Guild, the Ladies Guild, and visited shut-ins. She enjoyed traveling, walking and photography, especially taking pictures of nature.
There are no immediate survivors. She is survived by three nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Memorials are preferred to the church or the American Cancer Society.
