Frank Scherbring, 87, Former Carroll County Man, Buried at Farley

Funeral services for Frank Scherbring, 87, of Farley, Iowa, formerly of Breda and Arcadia were held at 9 o'clock Thursday morning at St. Joseph's church in Farley/ Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery there.

Mr. Scherbring, a retired farmer died at his home in Farley at 2:30 Tuesday morning, September 17, after a short Illness.

Born in Steinfeldt, Oldbenburg German, April 9. 1959, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Scherbring, he came to the United states with his parents when he was nine years old. They settled in Petersburg, Ia.

At the age of 19 years he moved to Breda. After his marriage to Miss Mary Ahrling May 2, 1883 the couple located on a farm near Breda. Later, they went to ARcadia where they lived until 23 years ago, when they moved to Farley.

Mr. Scherbring retired from farming 33 years ago.

Survivors are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Alphons Schweers (Mary), Arcadia: Mrs. John Glass (Anna), Odebolt, and Mrs Peter Friedman (Elizabeth), Farley: two sons, Herman J. Farley, and George, Davenport; 26 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one brother Herman Scherbring of Petersburg.
