John Edward Maloy was born October 30, 1933, to Paul and Evelyn (Smith) Maloy in Arapaho, OK and passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in his rural Foss home.
John was raised in Arapaho, OK and graduated from Arapaho High School in 1951. Hew soon joined the U.S. Army and later joined the Army Reserves and achieved the rank of E-6. While in the military he married Sylvia Humphrey on October 16, 1953. After his military discharge he returned to Custer County and began a career as a as a salesman for a food company, oilfield and numerous other before he retired in 2006. He retired in 2006 and his wife preceded him in death in 2010. He later married Gail Wood in May of 2011 in Woodward, OK.
He was a member of the of the Hobbs Ogle Power American Legion where he served three years as vice Commander and two years as commander. He had the personality that he never met a stranger and always seemed to make people like him.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
