George Warren Woody was born the 9th of May, 1884, in Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas, the son of James Dawson Woody and Alice Clark. He passed away on Christmas day, December 25, 1950, at his home in Allen, Kansas after a two week illness.
George married Anna Kenyon in Newkirk, Oklahoma, on January 5, 1911.
George was survived by his wife Anna, a sister Emma (Woody) Dugger of Topeka; brother Peter Littleton Woody of Paxico, Kansas; Dan Woody of Wellington, and Albert Woody of Dover.

His memorial service was held at the Allen, Kansas, Methodist Church with the Reverend J. C. Brogen, pastor of the Allen-Admire churches in charge. Singers were Mrs. Lee Lowder and Miss Esther Hass, accompanied by Miss Marilyn Naylor. Pallbearers were Charles Coffman, Warren Seitz, Berne Davis, Kenneth Hughes, Charles Miller, and Lee Lowder. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery south of Paxico.
