Kenneth W. "Bill" Bowen, 68, of Davenport, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1993 at St. Luke's Hospital, Davenport.

Runge Mortuary, Davenport, handled arrangements, with funeral services at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Davenport, where he was a member.

He was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Aug. 26, 1925 to Kenneth and Mildred (Mason) Bowen. He married Gertrude Deckhouse in Oskaloosa on Oct. 6, 1949.

Mr. Bowen was a graduate of Central College in Pella, Iowa, and earned his master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

He retired in 1985 after teaching art and social studies at Williams Junior High School, Davenport, for 32 years.

A World War II Navy veteran who was also a radioman in the Korean War, Mr. Bowen belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Iowa State and National Education Associations.

In addition to the widow, he was survived by a daughter, son, three grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers.
