Veteran Draughtsman At Steel Plant Dies
Charles E. Bates, 42, of 813 North Eighteenth street (sic), for more than twenty-five years employed at a draughtsman at the Steelton plant of the Bethlehem Steel Company, died suddenly last night at his home after suffering stroke of paralysis.
Bates, who was a former resident of Steelton, was apparently in good health when he arrived home from work last night.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Eva (sic) Bates, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Winifred E. Bates, at home, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Bates, of Steelton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. The Rev. Raymond Culp, pastor of the Emanuel Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Paxtang Cemetery. The body may be viewed tomorrow afternoon and evening.
He was a member of the Harrisburg Lodge of Elks.
