Mr. Shoup was raised in Colorado Springs, CO and entered the U.S. Army June, 7, 1943 from Denver, CO after 3 years of high school. Mr. Shoup served in Europe as Airborne/Paratrooper and as I recall landed behind enemy lines in Normandy (cannot find his obit saved "somewhere") on D-Day June 6th. He was wounded there and came back with one glass eye and a metal plate in his head!
Mr. Shoup graduated from Colorado Teachers' College with the Class of 1964. He taught High School mathematics in Crowly County, CO at the school in Ordway. He was an excellent math teacher whose classes maintained discipline! Mr. Shoup also drove the "school bus" in the early 1980's to the "frozen North" part of Crowley County to service the rural kids' families. He greatly enjoyed the peace and wide-open spaces of this job.
