Elnora Allen Wilborn Jackson, 84, of Princeton passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her devoted and loving family. Born May 18, 1937, in Lamar, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Allen and Annis Walker Allen. Elnora attended Mercer County Schools then worked as a domestic caregiver for several families in the area, including Joe, Martha, and Mary Vinciguerra for many years. She worked as a nursing assistant at Princeton Community Hospital for 25 years before retirement. After retirement she worked for the Council on Aging – Allcare. She was a member of Shiloh "A Place of Worship" in Princeton. Elnora was formerly the Princeton Tiger mascot and marched with the band at football games. She was a devoted volunteer for the Princeton Tiger Football Boosters and worked every home game in the concession stand. Affectionately known as Big G, Granny, and Ms. Ellie, she was the matriarch of her loving family, and her words of wisdom will carry on for generations. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wardell Wilborn, Sr.; second husband Frank L. Jackson, Sr.; sisters, Pearl Cook, Clara Hairston, and Betty Mae Hairston; and brothers, George Allen, and Charles Allen. She is survived by her son, Wardell Wilborn, Jr. of Princeton; daughters, Evangala Wilborn Harmon and Marcenia Wilborn Thornhill, both of Princeton, and Rondah Wilborn of Wilmington, NC; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and 1 great-great grandchild due in July; sister, Bernice Banks of Knoxville, TN; brother, Rudolph "Rudy" Allen of Princeton; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Pearl Hamby, and Bea Spicer. A homegoing service to celebrate Elnora's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Bishop Charles Stores, III, officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Park Cemetery in Princeton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
