Herbert Leroy Walters, 93, of Avonmore, Pa. passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Transitions Healthcare in North Huntingdon, Pa.

He was born on Friday, November 16, 1928 in Vandergrift, Pa., the son of the late Marlin J. and Mary M. Pierce Walters.

Before his retirement in 1983, he worked for the Veterans Administration as a boiler plant operator for over 33 years at the Highland Drive Facility. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. Herbert was a member of the North Apollo Church of God. He loved to travel with his wife in their camper and visited over 46 states. He like polishing stones and enjoyed playing cards immensely.

He is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Ellen Walters, 2 grandsons, Carey Walters and his wife, Bethany and Clark A. Walters and his wife, Tammy, 2 granddaughters, Melissa Bramhall and her husband, John and Rebecca Payne, 6 great grandchildren, Jacob Walters, Tabitha Bramhall, Makayla Payne, Morgan Bramhall, Heidi Walters and Zachary Walters, 3 nephews, Charles Hileman and his wife, Von, James Hileman and his wife, Camille and Thom Walter and his wife, Marcy, and 2 nieces, Barbara Girt and Becky Magersky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth E. Walters "Emeline, Liney", a son, Richard Leroy Walters, 3 half-brothers, Dale, Elmo and Marlin Walters and his sister, Velva L. Hileman.

Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, Pa.
