George Edward Flure, age 93, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 2:10 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.

George was born on February 10, 1929 in Rice, IL, a son to John and Rose (Magerkurth) Flure.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served twice. His first service was in World War II and later in the Korean War.

On April 25, 1953, he married Virginia Marie Epplin at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John Flure, Charles Flure, and Floyd Stern; and two sisters, Dorothy Flure and Ella Kellerman.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 10:30 a.m.

Interment will be in St. Bruno Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL with military graveside rites by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504.

Visitation will be at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday morning at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The rosary will be recited on Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
