Saturday, September 22, 1923

Geo W Beets, died at his home on Washington avenue, Wednesday morning at 4 o'clock after an illness of more than a year. He spent practically his whole life here and was highly esteemed as a kind neighbor, devoted to his family and loyal to the best interest of the community. He served the city in an official way several years and while the position carried no financial gain, yet he gave his time freely and cheerfully to all public service demanding action. He took much interest in religious matters and when in strong health seldom was absent from Sabbath services being a member of the Baptist church. he is survived by five sons and five daughters. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the M E church, conducted by Rev T O Bromley, the pastor. Interment in Sunset cemetery.
