Boonsboro - Douglas (Doug) Edward Lefever, 77, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021. He was born on April 16, 1944 to the late Nelson Lefever and Mildred Zimmerman Lefever. Doug was a 1962 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served two tours during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Xerox Corporation as a Manager for 30 years. Following his retirement, he owned and operated Office Equipment Services. Throughout his life he volunteered his time to various organizations such as, Cub Scout Leader of Pack 20 of Boonsboro; volunteer at Potomac Center; past President of the Boonsboro Band Boosters; past President of the Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society Washington County. In his leisure time, he enjoyed traveling and was an avid Redskins fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Darin Lee Kelbaugh. Doug is survived by Judy, his wife of 54 years; his son, David Kelbaugh and fiancée, Susan Garrison of Martinsburg, WV; his daughter, Kimberly and husband, David Cook of Martinsburg, WV; his granddaughter, Jessica and husband, CJ McMurtrie of Hagerstown, MD; his grandsons, Tyler Cook and Dylan Garrison of Martinsburg, WV; his uncle, Robert (Bob) Lefevre and wife, Wanda of Falling Waters, WV; his brothers-in-law, Terry Price and wife, Irene of Frederick, MD, Bob Keefer and wife, Barb of Shippensburg, PA, and Bill Keefer and wife, Karen of Shippensburg, PA. Family and friends are welcomed for visitation on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 7pm to 9pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown.
