HEALDTON -- Services for Vivian Fain, 84, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Reser Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.
Born July 7, 1915, at Sulphur to Archie C. and Exer Vernon Smith, she died March 30, 2000, at a Healdton hospital. She married Robert L. "Jack" Fain Sr. Oct. 22, 1936, at Ada. He preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta Treadwell; one granddaughter, Dawn Rennee Fain; and two sisters Vera Lee and Vita Bell.
Following her husband's work, Mrs. Fain lived at Fittstown, Orange Grove, Texas, Mathis, Texas, Port Berry, La., Raceland, La. and Holdenville, before she and her husband moved to Healdton, where they lived in the same house for more than 50 years. She worked as a voter registrar for the Carter County Election Board for 43 years. She also did ironing for many years and was a member of the Booster Club at Healdton when her children were in school. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Lona Fay Lindsey, Oklahoma City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Sharon Fain, Chatanooga, and Warran Gene and Barbara Fain, Deer Park, Texas; one sister, Louise Smith, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. today.
