A lifelong Virginian, and longtime Alexandrian, Margaret began her career with the US Department of State and ended it with the Department of the Army. In retirement, in addition to devoting much time and attention to her extended family, she was active in Fairlington UMC, and Alexandria Meals-on-Wheels and INOVA Alexandria Hospital Board of Lady Managers (both for 40 years). She leaves her only daughter, Cynthia Demitros (Donald), five grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Sidney L. Cox.
