Harold A. Hummel, 92, of Interlachen, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at his residence following an extended illness.

Harold was born in St. Louis, MO, and was a long-time resident of Palatka before moving to Interlachen in 2016. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a parishioner at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Palatka where he worked in the maintenance department for over 10 years. He also helped with bingo nights. He enjoyed square dancing (having sewn his and his wife Rita's outfits); bowling and playing chess.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Hummel; parents, Leo and Marie Hummel; a brother, Leo Hummel, Jr.; three sisters, Delores Capehart, Lucille Becker, Rosemary Miskell; and a granddaughter, Mercedeze Hummel.

Surviving is four sons, John Hummel of Inverness, Joseph "Joey" Hummel of Ohio, Joshua Hummel and his wife Jennifer of Palatka, Jacob Hummel and his fiancée Cheyenne Crosby of Interlachen; one daughter, Amanda Hummel of Interlachen; six grandchildren, James S. Hummel, Joseph S. Hummel, Jr., Aramas Hummel, Samara Hummel, Emma J. Hummel, and Amelia Hummel.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Father Ron Camarda officiating. Military honors will be bestowed by the United States Air Force.
