Gerald W. Treme Sr., 77, of Elton, passed away on May 4, 2022. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a passion for boxing. He loved being a boxing trainer under Phil Daley where many hours were spent training Thomas Hearns (Boxing Hall of Fame) and with Emanuel Steward (Boxing Hall of Fame Trainer). Gerald also had a great passion for the outdoors spending time at the hunting camp with friends. He was a retired Aircraft mechanic for Grumman and enjoyed watching Gun Smoke with his dog Eli.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Marian Ann Treme of Elton, LA, children; Jerry Treme Jr. (Alison) of Moss Bluff, LA, Brian Treme (Amy) of Roanoke, LA, Nikki Fournet (Beau) of Westlake, LA, grandchildren; Emily, Andrew, Ryan, Allyson, Audrey, Jake, Christopher (Marybeth), Jeanne-Claire, siblings; Randy Treme (Rhoda) of Lake Charles, LA, Bob Treme of Elton, LA, Pep Treme, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Special thanks to Lake Charles Care Center and staff and FMC Dialysis Clinic and staff of Jennings for providing the care that was needed for Gerald.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; Wilton and Lurline Taylor Treme, siblings; Ronald Treme and Sharon Groves.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 3PM at Reed-Riley Smith & Son's in Kinder, LA. Pastor Laura Nusbaum will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.Visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, at Reed-Riley Smith & Son's from 5PM to 9PM and will resume Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 1PM until the time of the service.
