Carolyn H. M. Belitz, age 86, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, surrounded by her family.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tipton. Memorials may be made to various local charities in her memory.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tipton. Burial will be in the Inland Cemetery, Bennett, Iowa.

Carolyn Helen Marie Hensch was born December 7, 1935, in Bennett, the daughter of Herbert and Anna (Stolte) Hensch. She graduated from Bennett High School in 1953, where she participated in many activities including playing girls basketball, cheerleading, playing in the band and playing the piano. She married Ronald Herman Belitz on January 10, 1957. Together they made their home in the Bennett and Tipton area, where they raised their five children. She remained interested in sports and played in an women's softball league in Tipton. She also loved to cook and especially loved to read and collect recipes. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bennett.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald Belitz; two daughters, Beverly Tripp and Brenda Vacek; three sons, Brian Belitz, Bryce (Mary) Belitz and Bradley (Naoko) Belitz; 16 grandchildren, Ron (Lisa) Humphrey, Ryan (Kelley) Humphrey, Rachel (Rob) Salamo, Shawna (Glen) Wiebel, Stacy (Brad) Chapman, John (Debbie) Vacek, Nick Vacek, Timothy (Meagan) Belitz, Brian (Cortni) Belitz, Jacob Belitz, Sara (Eric) Blunt, Elizabeth (James) Good, Jason (Betty) Mann, Ethan Mann, Alisa Belitz and Mia Belitz; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard (Jo) Hensch; three nieces, Vicky (Gerry) Schultz, Chris (Sid) Eckerman and Sheryl (Steve) Yerington; and four nephews, Harold (Kathy) Hensch, Robert (Eva) Belitz, Mike (Gail) Hensch and John (Tracy) Hensch.

She was preceded by one daughter-in-law, Gloria Belitz, two sons-in-law, David Tripp and Ken Vacek, one brother, Harold Hensch, two nieces, Kay Chambliss and Becky Paustian and two nephews, Joel Belitz and Mark Hensch.
