Stephanie Walczak (Stella), daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (Bujniewicz) Bobrowski, passed away on Friday, June 26,2009. She was born in North Chicago, IL, on December 14, 1915, and was a life-long resident. Stella married Leo (Beef) Walczak on October 6, 1934; he preceded her in death on July 17, 1966. Stella was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, former Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Club of Lake County, the Greater North Chicago Seniors, Polish Roman Catholic Union, St. Joe's Club, St. Elizabeth Club, the Rosary Sodality, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Stella had bowled In several leagues, loved to play golf, and at family gatherings, was an avid cribbage player. She retired from the North Chicago school system with 16 years of service, having worked at Neal, North Chicago High School, retiring from Novak King as Cafeteria Manager. Stella was also a noted caterer in the North Chicago/Waukegan area for over 50 years. The food she and her crew served are still talked about. Stella was a great believer in family and family values. She devoted her life to her immediate and extended family. She is survived by daughters, Theresa Walczak and Sally (Louie) Rigwood of North Chicago, IL; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Patricia Rigwood (C.J. Brown) of Waukegan, Anne (Michael) Drasler and Ben, Victoria and Logan of Waukegan, James (Tanya) Rigwood and Megan and Jenna of Sheboygan, WI, Thomas (Jane) Rigwood and Danielle of Spring Grove, IL, Michael (Laura) Rigwood and Jessica, Kyle, and Taylor Rigwood of Vernon Hills, Loretta (Ronald) Lackey of Waukegan, Denise McNeil of Nolensvllle, TN, and Annie of Chattanooga, TN, Timothy (Abby) McNeil and Sam and Max of Plattsburgh, NY, John (Chris) McNeil and Jake. Brady and Owen of Belvidere, TN, and Connor of Waukegan, IL, Nancy McNeil of Smyrna, TN, and Rebecca (Shane) Sample of Glenview, IL, Katy (Joe) Pament and Tierra, Brianna, Kayle, Josh (Shannon) and Madison, Joey (Amanda) and JC of Crossville, TN. She is also survived by brothers, Bruno (the late Virginia) of Gurnee, IL, and Stanley (the late Susan) of Lubbock, TX; and sister-in-law, Carol (the late Leo (Tuffy)) Bobrowski of Oviedo, FL. Stella is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and god children. In addition to her parents and husband, Stella was preceded in death by her daughter, Lenny (Mac) McNeil; brothers, Anthony (Stephie), Joseph (Sophie), and William (Loretta).
