GARNER-BLYTHE
At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garner, Wednesday evening, November 26, at 8 o'clock, Mr. George Blythe and Miss Mary Garner were united in marriage. Rev. John Mayor of Kansas City, officiated. Nearing the approach of the ceremonial period, Miss Gladys Sandford of Kansas City, niece of the bride, at the piano played the flower girl song, "All for Thee." With the changing of the music to Mendelssohn's march the bridal party entered the room, taking their places in an alcove of lattice work trimmed with rose leaves and chrysanthemums, where the ceremony was performed. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Blythe were best man and woman, while Misses Helen Garner and Nellie Blythe were maids of honor. The bride was beautifully attired in white messaline satin, trimmed with pearl ornaments, her long veil was caught up with a wreath of lilies of the valley.
After congratulations, refreshments were served. The bride's cake was cut and arranged on a circle on a table representing intact and broken.
The out of town guests were, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Mayor and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sanford of Kansas City, Miss Myrtle Blythe and Evan Jenkins of Manhattan, Mrs. W. H. Dodderidge of Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. James of Herington, Miss Myra Wallace of Emporia and Mrs. Fisher of Wilsey. There were many beautiful and valuable gifts.
