Frank T. Carlin, age 83, of Council Bluffs, passed away April 27, 2022 at Risen Son Nursing Home. Frank was born May 26, 1938 in Council Bluffs to Francis and Helen (Wortman) Carlin.
He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1956 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Frank married Carilyn Brich on July 16, 1971. He worked at Mercy Hospital over 30 years and did consulting work at Great Bend, KS, Baker City, OR and Louisville, KY. Frank then worked at Sterile Manufacturing after retiring from working at St. John's in Joplin, MO. He was an avid bowler in the 50's and 60's; loved to hunt and fish; Green Bay, Iowa Hawkeye and John Wayne fan; loved to play golf on many courses around the country while vacationing. Frank even got to see a practice round at the Master's.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis; mother, Helen Cohoe; brother, William and sister, Jean Goetsche.
Frank is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carilyn Carlin; sons, Brian A. (Jeri) Carlin, Bruce E. (Norma Quinlan) Carlin; stepsister, Deb (Ron) Evans; brother-in-law, Gary Goetsche; and nephew, Chad (Lisa) Goetsche.
Visitation with the family, Monday, 4 to 6 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Food and refreshments will follow at the Pizza King. The family will direct memorial contributions.
