Douglas Wayne Hestand, self-employed and lifelong resident of Tioga, TX passed away at his residence on April 21, 2022 at the age of 81.
Douglas was born in rural Tioga, TX on November, 17, 1940 to Glen "Soup" and Edith (Johnson) Hestand. He graduted Tioga High School in May 1959. On Janury 27, 1968 he married Sharon (McWilliams); Together they raised 6 children together.
He is survived by his children, Douglas Hestand, Jr and Elwana of Whitesboro, TX, Belinda Hestand of Sanger, TX, Michelle Hestand of Tioga, TX, Charles Hestand and wife Susan of Tioga, TX and Howard Hestand of Denton, TX; His siblings Norma Bradford of Aubrey, TX, Lola Simmel and husband Clifford of Arlington, TX and Jerry and Betty Hestand of Andrews, TX; Sister-in-law Peggy Hestand and multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, parents Glen & Edith Hestand, brother Ronald Joe Hestand, daughter Denise Matheny and granddaughter Christine Hestand.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Monday, April 25th 2022 at the Tioga Cemetery.
