Mary Calomese Burress was born May 22, 1945, to the late Deacon Robert and Zana Calomese in Baldwyn, Lee County, MS.

Mary accepted Christ at an early age and joined Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Baldwyn, MS under the leadership of Rev. M.M. Pulliam. She later relocated to Oxford, MS and united with Second Missionary Baptist Church.

She was employed as a supervisor by North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford and retired after many years of service. In her spare time, she enjoyed talking on the phone, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to celebrate holidays and birthdays.

On Friday, March 25, 2022, Mary departed her earthly life at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississppi.

She leaves to mourn her passing four sons, Dondi Calomese (Becky) of Union City, GA, Orlando Calomese (Sharon) of Abbeville, MS, Phillip Burress (Greta) of Corinth, MS, and Sean Burress of Conyers, GA; five grandchildren, Ashley and Phillesia Burress, Dondi Calmomese, Jr. (whom resided with her), Rhein and Resean Burress; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Annie Fleming and Martha Calomese both of Baldwyn, MS; 2 special nephews, Patrick Calomese and Roscoe Taylor; one niece, Latrenda McGee; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Lajuan GeLanie Burress.
